Close-boundary ear tag for barns and yards, heart rate and temperature for heat and health insight, a ringer for geofence cues, built-in 134.2 kHz RFID for HerdScan at weigh and parlor, on-demand GPS to find an animal even outside the farm, settable on-farm GPS updates, and solar-charged LiFePO4 power designed for long field life on HerdLink.

In barns, sheds, and close yards, every animal needs an identity you can trust and signals you can act on. HerdTag Ear SR is the short-range ear wearable for those facilities: a Bluetooth LE long-range coded PHY tag that streams vitals and activity into HerdLink, rings for geofence control, carries RFID so HerdScan can confirm the animal at the weigh station or milking parlor, and can return a precise global GPS position when you need to find a missing animal, or recover a tag, even outside the farm and beyond gateway range. Smart livestock tags exist so you can read behaviour, not only location. Heart rate and body temperaturel, with activity context, support heat / breeding windows, early health and fever watch, stress indicators, rest vs restless patterns, and other herd events that matter for milking and fattening. Global GPS supports two location modes: on-demand locate to pinpoint the node anywhere (including outside the farm / outside gateway coverage), and settable on-farm GPS updates (for example every few hours, or an interval you choose) so herd maps stay current without continuous tracking drain. After a locate or scheduled fix, the tag returns to ultra-low-power herd operation. Active solar charging into a LiFePO4 pack is designed for lifetime operation. Pair with HerdGate SR for close-boundary coverage.
