A simple animal identity tag for close monitoring, passive 134.2 kHz RFID read by HerdScan at weigh stations, parlors, and checkpoints so each pass becomes a trusted presence record on HerdLink. Same identity class as the RFID already built into HerdTag and HerdBand wearables.

Some animals need a clean identity mark without a smart wearable, calves in rotation, animals not yet on ear or neck intelligence, or sites that only need checkpoint confirmation. HerdID is the dedicated 134.2 kHz LF RFID tag for that job: when the animal passes HerdScan (up to about 50 cm), the station knows *which* animal was there and when, and HerdLink records it. HerdID is identity only: no vitals, no geofence ringer, no GPS, no herd-radio link to HerdGate. For animals that already wear HerdTag Ear or HerdBand Neck (SR or LR), those wearables already carry the same 134.2 kHz RFID class for close-range HerdScan reads at weigh and parlor — so you do not need a separate HerdID on every smart-tagged animal unless your fitment practice calls for it. Use HerdID where you want standalone LF identity; use HerdScan as the shared reader for both HerdID and RFID-equipped wearables.

HerdID RFID Tag (HL-ID) — close-range 134.2 kHz identity for HerdScan; the same LF class already inside HerdTag and HerdBand.
